Karen Bauer has a Batchelor of Science in Herbal Medicine, her education was at the School of Phytotherapy, which is the oldest school in the UK for herbal medicine. Karen has been working at Napiers Herbal Dispensary for 7 years. She has also practised in Kirkcaldy with an established hebal practice.
Karen is originally from Colac in Australia. She's been living in Scotland since 1997. She now lives in Montgomery Street next to Renroc Cafe and the Nevo Health Centre.
Often herbalists treat patients who are in search of last resort for their complaint, with many having tried a conventional route without success. Our approach is to examine the patient holistically, thus determining the cause of the complaint, and so, along with providing symptomatic relief, we aim to find a long-term solution that will prevent a complaint from re-occurring. We often work with GP's, providing a complimentary treatment to conventional therapies, and many GP's recommend Herbalism as an alternative, less aggressive medical solution. In most cases we are able to prescribe safely alongside conventional medications.
